OUTPUT

Attach a TRS cable to the jack on the TFC and to the proper jack on the device it controls.

COLOR KNOB

Sets the intensity of the flanger effect.

RANGE KNOB

Sets the lower limit of the flanger sweep.

RATE KNOB

Controls the speed of flanger modulation.

FILTER MATRIX SWITCH

When this switch is set to the right position, the modulation waveform is disconnected from the flanger circuit, freezing the flanger and creating a matrix of filters.

FOOTSWITCH AND LED

The Footswitch toggles between effect and bypass mode.

INPUT JACK

This ¼” jack is the audio input.

FLANGED OUT JACK

This ¼” jack is the effect output.

DRY OUT JACK

This ¼” jack is connected directly to the INPUT jack giving you access to your input signal.

CH 1-4 DIVISOR SLIDERS AND LEDS

Each channel has its own independent DIVISOR slider control. Set a given channel’s clock divider by moving the center of its DIVISOR slider to the number you wish to divide by.

CH 1-4 LEVEL SLIDERS

Each channel has its own independent output LEVEL control. The LEVEL slider sets a given channel’s output pulse amplitude or level.

OUT 1 – OUT 2 OUTPUT JACKS

Insert any standard patch or instrument cable into the jacks.

OUT 3 – OUT 4 OUTPUT JACKS

Insert any standard patch or instrument cable into the jacks.

CLOCK TEMPO SLIDER

Adjusts the master tempo or speed of the internal clock generator.

CLOCK LEVEL SLIDER

The LEVEL slider located in the CLOCK section of the Clockworks adjusts the output level of the internal master clock sent to the CLOCK IN/OUT jack.

CLOCK IN/OUT JACK

When set to INT mode, the CLOCK IN/OUT jack is an output, the internally generated clock pulses will be output from this jack. When set to EXT mode, CLOCK IN/OUT is an input, connect your externally generated clock to this jack.

TRACK SELECT FOOTSWITCH AND LED

Pressing the TRACK SELECT footswitch on the 45000 FC is equivalent to pressing the TRACK SELECT button on the 45000 main unit.

LOOP UP FOOTSWITCH AND LEDs

Pressing the LOOP UP footswitch will increment the loop number by 1. Press and hold for approximately half a second to jump up by ten loops at a time instead of just one.

RECORD FOOTSWITCH AND LED

Pressing the RECORD footswitch on the 45000 FC is equivalent to pressing the RECORD button on the 45000 main unit.

PLAY FOOTSWITCH AND LED

Pressing the PLAY footswitch on the 45000 FC is equivalent to pressing the PLAY button on the 45000 main unit.

LOOP DOWN FOOTSWITCH AND LEDs

Press the LOOP DOWN footswitch to decrement the loop number by 1.

OUTPUT JACK

Connect the foot controller to the 45000 looper.

2-DIGIT LED DISPLAY

Shows the currently loaded or selected loop number.

NEW LOOP BUTTON

The NEW LOOP button will put the 45000 into Record-Ready Mode.

RECORD BUTTON AND LED

The RECORD button will enable the 45000 to enter/exit one of the recording modes: Record, Overdub or Punch-In.

PLAY BUTTON AND LED

The PLAY button is used to toggle Playback mode on/off.

REVERSE BUTTON AND LED

Press the REVERSE button and the loop will reverse its Playback/Record direction.

PUNCH IN BUTTON AND LED

When the PUNCH-IN function is activated, Overdubbing Mode will change into Punch-In Mode. The Punch-In function is useful for fixing bad notes or mistakes.

OCTAVE BUTTON AND LED

The OCTAVE button will lower the speed of the loop by exactly 1/2: the pitch will go down one octave and the tempo will be halved.

QUANTIZE BUTTON AND LED

The QUANTIZE button toggles between Non-Quantize (NQ) and Quantize modes.

EXT. CLOCK BUTTON AND LED

Pressing the EXT. CLOCK button will enable the 45000 to synchronize to external MIDI Clock messages received at its MIDI IN jack.

DRY OUT FADER AND PAN POT

The DRY OUT Fader and pan knob allow you to monitor your instrument when recording or to play along with a loop you have already recorded.

RECORD TRACKS

There are 4 tracks available for you to record your instruments onto.

TRACK FADERS

The 4 track faders serve a dual purpose: during Playback they are the volume control for each track, during Overdubbing they act like a Feedback control as seen on a delay effect.

MIXDOWN TRACK

The Mixdown Track is a stereo track that records the audio from the 4 Recording tracks through their pan knobs and faders. There are two different modes of Mixdown: Normal Mixdown and Constant Tempo Mixdown.

TEMPO SLIDER AND LED

The TEMPO Slider sets the tempo for the 45000 at all times except when the EXT.CLOCK is activated (then the 45000 looks to MIDI IN for its tempo).

CLIX LEVEL KNOB

The CLIX LEVEL knob adjusts the volume of the Clix metronome from 0 to 100%. As you turn the knob clockwise, the metronome beat gets louder. Whether the 45000 is idle, recording, overdubbing or playing a loop, it always outputs the metronome beat at the volume specified by the CLIX LEVEL knob.

The 45000 comes supplied with a 4GB card which allows for a maximum loop recording time of up to 125 minutes. You could record one loop that is 125 minutes or 100 loops, each 1.25 minutes in length.

STEREO MODE BUTTON AND LED

This button toggles the 45000 in/out of Stereo Mode.

TRACK SELECT BUTTON

This button is used to select the active track for recording and overdubbing.

BLEND KNOB

Controls the wet/dry mix from 100% dry to 100% wet.

AMOUNT KNOB

The function of the AMOUNT knob changes with each REVERB mode

SHIMMER SWITCH

Enables SHIMMER mode, which changes the routing between each effect to produce a lush, shimmering reverb tone while keeping a dry initial attack. When SHIMMER mode is enabled, the Holy Grail Plus LED lights up green. If SHIMMER is disabled, the Holy Grail Plus LED will be red.

REVERB SWITCH

Chooses the reverb mode: SPRING, HALL, ROOM or FLERB.

RATE KNOB

This knob controls the speed or rate of the LFO signal that modulates the flanger. It also controls the rate of the Chorus effect.

FLANGER DEPTH KNOB

Controls the amount of Flange that is mixed with the direct signal.

CHORUS DEPTH KNOB

Controls the amount of the chorus sound.

SUB OCTAVE KNOB

Controls the output volume of the SUB OCTAVE signal.

OCTAVE UP KNOB

Controls the output volume of the OCTAVE UP signal.

DRY KNOB

Controls the output volume of the DRY signal.

HOLY GRAIL PLUS FOOTSWITCH AND STATUS LED

When the LED in the Holy Grail Plus section is lit (either red or green), the Holy Grail Plus effect is active. A red LED in the Holy Grail Plus section indicates that the SHIMMER setting is off. A green LED in the Holy Grail Plus section indicates that the SHIMMER setting is on.

STEREO ELECTRIC MISTRESS FOOTSWITCH AND STATUS LED

When the LED in the Stereo Electric Mistress section is lit, the Stereo Electric Mistress effect is active. When lit, the Stereo Electric Mistress LED fades between red and green to show the rate of modulation.

MICRO POG FOOTSWITCH AND STATUS LED

When the LED in the Micro POG section is lit, the Micro POG effect is active.

MONO/L AND R INPUT JACKS

When using the Epitome with only one input we suggest you use the MONO/L input.

MONO/L OUTPUT JACK

This 1/4” jack is the main effect output jack when connected in mono and the Left output when hooked up in stereo.

R OUTPUT JACK

This 1/4” jack is the Right effect output jack.

UP/DOWN FOOTSWITCHES

If no preset is currently loaded, pressing either footswitch will load the preset associated with the currently displayed number. If a preset is loaded, press and release the UP Footswitch to load the preset. indicated by the new number. Press and hold either footswitch for approximately 1 second to jump up or down by 10 presets at a time, instead of just one. Keep holding down the footswitch to continue to jump by 10 presets.

UP/DOWN FOOTSWITCHES

If no preset is currently loaded, pressing either footswitch will load the preset associated with the currently displayed number. If a preset is loaded, press and release the UP Footswitch to load the preset. indicated by the new number. Scroll through the presets without loading a new preset.

INPUT JACK

Connect the foot controller to the HOG 2.

2-DIGIT LED DISPLAY

The LED digits display the currently selected or loaded preset number. The numbers range from 0 to 99.

MASTER VOL SLIDER

Sets the overall output volume.

DRY OUTPUT SLIDER

Controls the output volume of your original, unaffected DRY signal before it exits from the OUTPUT jack.

INPUT JACK

Connect your instrument to the HOG2’s INPUT jack using a standard ¼” instrument cable.

DIRECT OUTPUT JACK

Outputs a buffered version of the signal present at the INPUT jack.

OUTPUT JACK

This is the main output. Connect this jack to the input of your amplifier, mixer or computer using a standard ¼” instrument cable.

BYPASS FOOTSWITCH

Toggle between bypass and effect mode.

-2 OCTAVE SLIDER

Controls the output volume of the -2 OCTAVES voice.

-1 OCTAVE SLIDER

Controls the output volume of the -1 OCTAVE voice.

ORIGINAL SLIDER

Controls the output volume of the ORIGINAL voice. The ORIGINAL voice is your Dry signal sent through the Expression Modes, Envelope and Filter, so it is treated just like all other voices with a white cap.

+5TH SLIDER

Controls the output volume of the +5TH voice.

+1 OCTAVE SLIDER

Controls the output volume of the +1 OCTAVE voice.

+1 OCTAVE +5TH SLIDER

Controls the output volume of the +1 OCTAVE +5TH voice.

+2 OCTAVES SLIDER

Controls the output volume of the +2 OCTAVES voice.

+2 OCTAVES +3RD SLIDER

Controls the output volume of the +2 OCTAVES +3RD voice.

+3 OCTAVES SLIDER

Controls the output volume of the +3 OCTAVES voice.

+4 OCTAVES SLIDER

Controls the output volume of the +4 OCTAVES voice.

SPECTRAL GATE BUTTON AND LED

When the SPECTRAL GATE LED is lit, the Spectral Gate function is active and in the signal path.

ENVELOPE LOWER & UPPER SLIDERS

The Envelope sliders control the amplitude Attack or Decay of the voices. The LOWER slider controls the lower 5 voices (-2 Octaves to +1 Octave); the UPPER slider controls the upper 5 voices (+1 Octave +5th to +4 Octaves).

ENVELOPE FOOTSWITCH

Toggles the Envelope section ON / OFF.

FILTER FREQUENCY SLIDER

Controls the cutoff or peak frequency of the 2nd-Order lowpass filter.

FILTER RESONANCE SLIDER

Controls the resonance, Q or peak of the filter.

EXP. MODE SWITCH AND LEDs

The HOG2 has 7 different Expression modes. Each time you press the EXP. MODE button the HOG2 selects the next mode in a clockwise rotation.

EXP. REVERSE SWITCH AND LED

This button reverses the direction of the Expression Mode currently selected.

EXP. BUTTON FOOTSWITCH

This momentary footswitch enables you to take advantage of the 7 Expression Modes without needing an Expression Pedal.

EXP. PEDAL JACK

Plug the Expression Pedal into this jack.

MIDI IN JACK

The MIDI connector on the HOG2 allows external control over just above every parameter on the HOG2’s top panel as well as loading/saving presets.

FOOTSWITCH JACK

Connect the Electro-Harmonix HOG2 Foot Controller to this jack using a standard ¼” instrument cable to access up to 100 presets.

DELAY KNOB

Controls the delay time.

FEEDBACK KNOB

Controls the number of echo repeats each note produces.

BLEND KNOB

Mix of the dry signal coming with the delayed signal produced.

GAIN KNOB

Controls the input gain into the Memory Toy.

RATE KNOB

Controls the Neo Clone’s speed of modulation.

TREBLE KNOB

EQ control for the treble or high frequency response of the Metal Muff.

BASS KNOB

EQ control for the bass or low frequency response of the Metal Muff.

VOLUME KNOB

Controls the overall output volume of the METAL MUFF.

DRIVE KNOB

Controls the amount of input gain.

DEPTH

Changes the intensity, or depth, of the chorus effect choosing between high and low depth.

GATE THRESHOLD KNOB

Controls the input amplitude needed to open the GATE.

MEMORY TOY FOOTSWITCH AND STATUS LED

The footswitch located nearest the OUT jack of the Tone Tattoo toggles the Memory Toy effect on or off. When the LED in the Memory Toy section is lit.

NEO CLONE FOOTSWITCH AND STATUS LED

Toggles the effect on or off. When the LED in the Neo Clone section is lit, the effect is active.

METAL MUFF FOOTSWITCH AND STATUS LED

Toggles the Metal Muff effect on or off. When the LED in the Metal Muff section is lit, the Metal Muff effect is active.

IN JACK

Connect the output of your instrument or other effects pedal to the 1/4″ inch IN jack.

OUT JACK

Connect the output of the Tone Tattoo to the input of an amplifier or another effects pedal.

SCOOP SWITCH

Provides two settings of attenuation in the middle frequency range.

GATE BUTTON

Enables the gate function of the METAL MUFF. When the GATE button is enabled, the METAL MUFF LED is green.

BLEND KNOB

A wet/dry control allowing you to vary the mix between direct and delayed signals.

GAIN KNOB

Sets the input gain.

RATE KNOB

The RATE knob sets the rate or speed of modulation.

DEPTH KNOB

Sets the amount of modulation that is applied to the delay time.

FEEDBACK KNOB

Controls the amount of signal that is circulated from the output of the delay block to its input.

DELAY KNOB

Sets the delay time from 30 mS to 630 mS.

TAP DIVIDE BUTTON AND LEDs

This button cycles through the six possible settings for TAP DIVIDE.

EXP. MODE BUTTON AND LEDs

The EXP. Mode button cycles through the six available expression modes: BLEND, RATE, DEPTH, FEEDBACK, DELAY and OFF.

TAP FOOTSWITCH

The TAP FSW is used to tap in the delay time.

BYPASS FOOTSWITCH AND STATUS LED

The BYPASS FSW is used to toggle between effect mode and bypass mode. The red STATUS LED will light up when in effect mode.

Connect the output of your instrument or other effects pedal to the ¼” INPUT jack.

SEND JACK

Connect this jack to the input of another effects pedal or chain of effects pedals to insert an effects loop.

EXP. PEDAL JACK

Control any of the five available expression modes with an optional expression pedal or control voltage.

OUTPUT JACK

Connect the output to the input of an amplifier or another effects pedal.

RETURN JACK

Connect this jack to the output of another effects pedal or chain of effects pedals to insert an effects loop.

TAP SW JACK

Input the tap tempo from an external momentary switch.
