9V POWER JACK

Attach the output plug from the included power supply to the 9V power jack. WOTM draws 40mA at 9VDC on a center-negative plug. Do not exceed 10.5VDC on the power jack.

COLOR KNOB

Sets the intensity of the flanger effect. As you turn COLOR clockwise, the effect becomes more pronounced, producing that classic whoosh effect flangers are famous for.

RANGE KNOB

Allows you to set the lower limit of the flanger sweep. A fully counterclockwise setting, where the lower limit is just below the higher limit, creates a narrow sweep effect. As you turn RANGE clockwise the flanger sweeps down further into the bass region.

RATE KNOB

Controls the speed of flanger modulation. As you turn RATE clockwise, the flanger’s speed increases. Higher settings of RATE give the effect a sound like vibrato.

FILTER MATRIX SWITCH

When this switch is set to the right position, labeled FILTER MATRIX, the modulation waveform is disconnected from the flanger circuit, freezing the flanger and creating a matrix of filters. Turn the RANGE knob to change the filters’ position and use COLOR to adjust the depth of filtering. The RATE knob has no effect when set to FILTER MATRIX mode. Proper manipulation of the RANGE and COLOR knobs will enable you to simulate the sound of chimes being played in unison with your instrument, as well as many other effects.

INPUT JACK

Audio input to WOTM.

FLANGED OUT JACK

Main audio output from WOTM. All flanging and modulation effects will emanate from this jack.

DRY OUT JACK

Secondary audio output from WOTM. DRY OUT is directly connected to the INPUT jack in all modes.

FOOTSWITCH & STATUS LED

Use the footswitch to switch between bypass and effect mode. The LED is off when WOTM is in true bypass mode. When WOTM is active, the LED is lit.

Nano Pulsar https://www.ehx.com/products/nano-pulsar/ Mon, 28 Feb 2022 18:23:42 +0000 https://www.ehx.com/?post_type=product&p=187160

9V POWER JACK

An optional 9VDC, center-negative power supply can be connected to the power jack to provide power without a battery. The Nano Pulsar requires 30mA at 9VDC on a center-negative plug. Do not exceed 12VDC at the power jack. When using a 9V battery, plugging into the INPUT jack activates power. The input cable should be removed when the unit is not in use to avoid running down the battery. To change the 9-volt battery, you must remove the 4 screws on the bottom of the Nano Pulsar. Once the screws are removed, you can take off the bottom plate and change the battery. Please do not touch the circuit board while the bottom plate is off or you risk damaging a component.

VOLUME KNOB

Adjusts the overall output level of the effect. As VOL is turned clockwise, the output gets louder. The VOL knob offers up to 12dB of volume boost depending on the settings of the other controls. When VOL is turned fully counterclockwise the effect output is silenced.

DEPTH KNOB

Adjusts the amount of tremolo that will be applied to your signal. As DEPTH is turned clockwise from minimum to maximum, the amount of the tremolo effect increases. Maximum tremolo—greatest dynamic range from loudest to quietest—occurs when the DEPTH knob is set to approximately 1 o’clock. As DEPTH is turned further clockwise past 1 o’clock, the tremolo begins to warp by modulating between positive and negative phase with an asymmetric or rhythmic feel. Set DEPTH to approximately 1 o’clock to obtain the widest stereo field when the Nano Pulsar is used as a stereo panner.

SHAPE KNOB

Triangle Wave Mode The modulation waveform is triangle wave based, resulting in smooth volume modulation. As the SHAPE knob is turned clockwise from the minimum position to the center, the waveform morphs from rising sawtooth to triangle. Turning SHAPE further clockwise from the center position to maximum, the waveform continues to morph from triangle to falling sawtooth. Please note: the triangle shapes are reversed out of the Right OUTPUT jack. Square Wave Mode The modulation waveform is square wave based, resulting in sharp, on/off volume modulation. As the SHAPE knob is turned clockwise from minimum to maximum, the modulating waveform’s pulse width increases from a narrow pulse to a wide pulse width. Near the knob’s center position is square wave modulation where the tremolo volume is loud and quiet in equal amounts. Please note: the square shapes are reversed out of the Right OUTPUT jack.

RATE KNOB

Adjusts the speed of the tremolo or pan effect. As RATE is turned clockwise the modulation rate increases. The range of modulation speed is approximately 20 seconds to 30 Hz.

SHAPE SWITCH

Selects between Triangle and Square Wave modes.

INPUT JACK

Audio input to the Nano Pulsar.

RIGHT OUTPUT JACK

Connect this ¼” mono jack to your second amplifier’s input. When using the Nano Pulsar as a stereo panner, use the R OUTPUT jack for your second channel. You can connect only to the RIGHT OUT jack if you like; the tremolo effect will be the same as from the LEFT OUT jack but the SHAPE waveforms are reversed. For example, when the SHAPE knob is set to maximum, tremolo modulation out of the Right Output will either be a rising sawtooth or narrow pulse width.

MONO / LEFT OUTPUT JACK

Connect this ¼” mono jack to your amplifier’s input. When using the Nano Pulsar as a mono device we recommend you use the MONO/L jack so that the SHAPE knob description on the previous page corresponds to what you hear.

FOOTSWITCH and STATUS LED

Press and release the footswitch to toggle between buffered bypass and effect mode. When in effect mode, the Status LED is lit and pulses at the same rate as the effect. The Status LED is off in buffered bypass mode. The Nano Pulsar powers up in bypass mode.

BLEND KNOB

Varies the output mix between the dry and delayed signals. The BLEND knob ranges from 100% dry (CCW position) to 100% wet (CW position). Set BLEND to the center position for equal levels of both.

FEEDBACK KNOB

Controls the amount of signal that is circulated from the output of the delay block back to its input yielding delay repeats, or multiple echoes. If set very high, runaway oscillation will occur. Fairly high feedback with short delay settings produces a reverb effect.

DELAY KNOB

Sets delay time from 30ms to 550ms. As DELAY is turned clockwise, the delay time increases. Turning the DELAY knob while playing can produce strange, eerie and unusual pitch-shift effects, especially with FEEDBACK set above noon. Note: it is normal to hear ring modulation artifacts when DELAY is set above 3 o’clock.

LEVEL KNOB

Sets the input gain for the Nano DMM. Both the wet and dry signals mixed by the BLEND knob go through the gain block. We recommend starting with LEVEL turned to 12 o’clock, setting the BLEND knob for the proper mix between wet and dry signals, then adjust the LEVEL knob for an ideal volume balance between effect and bypass modes.

RATE KNOB

Adjusts the speed of modulation. As RATE is turned clockwise, the modulation speed increases. The original DMM has a rate switch labeled Chorus and Vibrato. To achieve the same Chorus and Vibrato settings on the Nano DMM: set RATE to 9 o’clock for the Chorus setting; set RATE to 2 o’clock for the Vibrato setting. The DEPTH knob must be set above the full CCW position to hear the RATE knob change the modulation speed.

DEPTH KNOB

Sets the amount of modulation that is added to the effect. As DEPTH is turned clockwise, modulation width increases. Modulation is produced by sweeping the delay time with a repeating LFO. The Nano DMM’s built-in modulation produces vibrato style effects when the BLEND knob is set to maximum or produces chorus type effects when BLEND is set to the middle. Turn DEPTH down to the full counter-clockwise position to disable modulation.

INPUT JACK

Audio input to the Nano DMM.

OUTPUT JACK

Audio output from the Nano DMM.

FOOTSWITCH & TAILS SWITCH

The footswitch engages or bypasses the effect. An internal TAILS switch makes delay echoes ring out to their natural feedback decay after entering bypass mode. When TAILS is on, the pedal uses buffered bypass. When TAILS is off, the delay echoes are muted upon entering bypass and the pedal is True-Bypass.

OVERLOAD LED

The OVERLOAD LED lights when the delayed signal starts to smoothly clip.

STATUS LED

The STATUS LED lights when the effect is engaged. In bypass mode, the STATUS LED is off.

9V Power Jack

Attach the output plug from the included power supply to the 9V power jack.

VIBRATO/CHORUS SWITCH

This switch determines which effect you are currently using.

ENV/EXP SWITCH

This switch determines whether the envelope and/or expression pedal is affecting the rate or depth of the effect.

VOLUME KNOB

This knob sets the output volume of the effect.

SHAPE KNOB

This knob affects the LFO (low-frequency-oscillator) shape of the modulation. With the knob at center, you have a symmetric sine wave, the most standard sounding effect. As you turn the knob one direction or the other, the LFO shape is warped to be less symmetric the further you turn the knob.

RATE KNOB

This knob sets the speed of the modulation. The rate can be further controlled with your playing envelope and/or an expression pedal, which is explained later in this manual (see numbers 8 and 9).

TONE KNOB

This knob affects the tonality of the effect. Turn this clockwise for more treble (a brighter sound), turn this knob counter-clockwise for more bass (a darker sound).

ENVELOP KNOB

This knob effects how your playing envelope, or dynamics (how loud/soft you are playing) affects the modulation. With the knob at center, your envelope has no effect. As you turn the knob above center, harder playing will result in a faster rate or higher depth (depending on the state of the ENV/EXP switch). The further the knob is turned up, the more dramatic this effect will be. As you turn the knob below center, the opposite happens: harder playing results in a slower rate or lesser depth. See manual for more.

DEPTH KNOB

This knob sets the amount of modulation. The higher this knob is, the more dramatic the effect is. The depth can be further controlled with your playing envelope and/or an expression pedal.

FOOTSWITCH

Press this footswitch to switch between effect and buffered-bypass modes. You can also use this footswitch to enable a momentary effect. If, when in bypass, you press and hold the footswitch for over a half second or so, upon pressing it the effect will engage, and upon removing your foot the effect will switch back to bypass. You can disable this momentary option by opening the back of the pedal and switching the internal “mom. enable” switch on the bottom left to “OFF.”

INPUT JACK

Plug a standard TS instrument cable from your guitar (or the output of another effects pedal) into this jack. The input impedance of the Eddy is 1MΩ.

EXPRESSION JACK

Plug an external expression pedal into this jack using a TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) cable. The Eddy, like all Electro-Harmonix effects, sends out its reference voltage on the ring and expects the control voltage on the tip. Which parameter the expression pedal controls depends on the state of the ENV/EXP switch. The current position of the RATE/DEPTH knob will serve as the maximum level, the level you will get when the expression pedal is at toe.

OUTPUT JACK

Plug a standard TS instrument cable from this jack to the input of a suitable amplifier or a different effects pedal. The output impedance of the Eddy is 470Ω.

BLUE STROBING LED

This LED strobes based on the current rate and shape of the modulation. As the rate is changed, by either the RATE knob, your envelope, or the expression pedal, you will see the speed of this LED’s strobing change. This LED also helps visualize changes in the LFO shape controlled by the SHAPE knob. The current depth of the modulation is not reflected in this LED.

WHITE STATUS LED

This LED lights when the pedal is in effect mode, and is off when the pedal is in buffered-bypass mode.

MOD 11 https://www.ehx.com/products/mod-11/ Wed, 14 Oct 2020 09:40:05 +0000 https://www.ehx.com/product/mod-11/

DEPTH KNOB

For most effects, it sets the depth or intensity of the effect. For the Rotary effect, it sets the balance between the rotating drum and horn signals.

RATE KNOB

Sets the modulation speed. In some mod types, turning this knob to minimum enters Filter Matrix Mode.

VOLUME / COLOR KNOB

For the first six modulation effects, this is simply a volume knob. For the last five it has a different use. For FLANGE, TZF, and PHASE it sets the amount of feedback, which increases the resonance and emphasis of the effect. For PITCH it sets the center pitch shift that the modulation happens around. For FILT, it sets the resonance.
