INPUT I Jack

This 1⁄4” jack is the audio input for the normal channel.

INPUT II Jack

This 1⁄4” jack is the audio input for the bright channel.

VOL I Knob

Controls the overall loudness of channel I, the normal channel.

VOL II Knob

Controls the overall loudness of channel II, the bright channel.

TONE Knobs

TREBLE, MIDDLE, BASS and PRESENCE controls are used to alter the amplifier’s frequency response. Adjust to taste and experiment with different settings.

STANDBY switch

Flip the STANDBY switch to the “on” position. It’s best to keep the volume low when turning your amp on and then adjust it to the level you need.

POWER switch.

Turn on the POWER switch. Wait thirty seconds for the tubes to warm up.

Lamp

Lights up when the POWER switch is on.

15Watt Howitzer https://www.ehx.com/products/15watt-howitzer/ Wed, 03 Mar 2021 16:26:14 +0000 https://www.ehx.com/?post_type=product&p=22597

VOL KNOB

Controls the volume or loudness of the amplifier. As you turn the VOL knob clockwise, the 15Watt Howitzer’s output gets louder. This knob acts as a master volume control and interacts with the GAIN knob to set the output level.

TREBLE KNOB

This knob controls the loudness of high frequencies in the preamp section of the amplifier. As you turn TREBLE up, the high-end increases.

MID KNOB

Controls the mid frequency loudness in the preamp section of the amplifier. As you turn MID up, the middle frequency band increases in level.

BASS KNOB

Controls the loudness of low frequencies in the preamp section of the amplifier. As you turn BASS up, the low-end increases.

GAIN KNOB

This knob controls the amount of gain and overdrive that is generated by the preamp. As you turn GAIN clockwise, the overall signal will get louder and start to distort. When the knob is turned fully clockwise, the sound will be a warm overdriven tone. WARNING: as you turn the GAIN knob up, the output level might increase significantly, compensate by turning down VOL.

INPUT JACK

Plug the output of your guitar, effects pedal or any other instrument into the INPUT jack using a standard ¼” instrument cable. The input impedance presented at the INPUT jack is 1 M.

OUTPUT JACK

Connect the 15Watt Howitzer’s OUTPUT jack directly to a speaker cabinet with impedance of 8 – 16 only.

SEND/LINE OUT JACK

The SEND/LINE OUT jack outputs the Howitzer’s preamp section. Connect SEND/LINE OUT to the beginning of your FX loop or use it as a direct output.

RETURN JACK

The RETURN jack connects directly to the power amp section of the Howitzer. Plug your FX loop output into the RETURN jack. The RETURN jack can also be used as a direct input into the power amp. Plug directly into the RETURN jack to bypass the Howitzer’s preamp section. When using the RETURN jack as a direct power amp input, the preamp section will not effect the tone. The VOL knob still controls the overall loudness of the amp and the BRIGHT/NORM switch provides a slight high-end boost to the Return signal. The input impedance presented at the RETURN jack is 1 MΩ.

BRIGHT/NORM CONTROL

When engaged, the BRIGHT switch adds a subtle top boost or presence to your signal. When in the NORM position, the top boost is defeated.

VOLUME CONTROL

This knob controls the volume or loudness of the amplifier.

INPUT JACK

Plug the output of your guitar, effects pedals or any other instrument into the INPUT jack using a standard ¼” instrument cable. The input impedance presented at the INPUT jack is 2 MΩ.

OUTPUT JACK

Connect the 5MM’s OUTPUT jack directly to a speaker cabinet. 8 Ω – 16 Ω only.

INPUT Jack

This 1⁄4” jack is the audio input for the amplifier. The input impedance is 1.5MΩ.

VOLUME Knob

Controls the overall loudness and gain of the amplifier. We recommend turning down VOLUME prior to applying power. Turn up the VOLUME knob after the amp has been powered up for at least five seconds.

TONE Knob

Alters the amplifier’s frequency response. Turning this control counter-clockwise increases bass and turning it clockwise increases treble.

BITE Knob

Alters the amplifier’s gain level and frequency response. Turning this control clockwise increases the gain and treble content. This control is also very interactive with the VOLUME control; changing one affects the other.

REVERB Knob

Controls the volume of the reverb. When the reverb footswitch is not connected to the back panel via a 1⁄4” mono instrument cable, the reverb is always on.

Reverb Switch Knob

Chooses the reverb mode. From left to right, the modes are SPRING, HALL, PLATE, and REVERSE.

TIME Knob

Adjusts the decay time, or reverb length/size, for the SPRING, HALL and PLATE reverbs. In REVERSE mode, the TIME knob sets the length of time between striking a note and the reverb fade-in. While in PLATE mode, when TIME is set to its maximum position, the reverb decay is over 30 seconds, creating a lush reverb wash with each new note.
